To Whom it May Concern:
I have been interesting in the study of human behavior and mental health since I took my first psychology class in college. I didn’t know then that I wanted to be a counselor, I just knew that I couldn’t get enough of child development, interpersonal communication or general psychology. It wasn’t until I worked at a residential treat- ment center with children and young adults in the foster care system, that I realized I wanted to become a counselor. My time as a residential counselor opened my eyes to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of a compassionate witness. I knew then that I wanted to share in the challenging, dark, and scary moments of others’ lives in order to walk with them toward finding hope and restoration.
I have learned over the years that I know and understand myself and others as a bi-product of my relationship with God. I know that my passion and strength are derived from the care and help I have experienced from God and it brings me great joy to share this with others. I have years of experience in churches, volunteer Christian organizations, and Christian higher education, that give me a unique perspective on integrating my faith and counseling. I would love to have the opportunity to apply my learning, life experiences, and interactions with God to counseling others with Seattle Christian Counseling.
I enjoy working with all age groups and I am happy to do group, family, or individual counseling. I also have experience running my own business, so I am great with scheduling, time management, and professionalism. I do need supervision, as I will be an LMHCA. I would love talk more with someone about what you are looking for and how I might meet those needs.
I appreciate you taking the time to review my resume and I look forward to hearing from you!

Respectfully,
